Visual identity for global monitoring and business intelligence tool

Specus is envisioned as a comprehensive global monitoring and business intelligence hub for public procurement systems. It leverages automated data collection, analytics, and visualization to map the full landscape of procurement markets across countries, sectors, and institutions. 

With an international team from Mexico, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Paraguay, the company needed an identity during its startup phase that would allow it to communicate its values and uniqueness to a specialized audience of investors and analysts.

The name is inspired by Roman aqueducts, serving as a sort of water bridge through which information flows between the private sector—for investments and government contracts—and the civil society sector, which acts as a watchdog over public investments.

The brand conveys the attributes of precision, innovation, and reliability, emphasizing the dual-space character in a digital environment. It seeks uniqueness and recognition through a subtle icon and custom typography for uniqueness. Its applications are still in their early stages, but the brand has the flexibility needed to connect with its audience across apps, the web, and printed materials.
